Being a good person
Some bullies do not understand normal social emotions such as guilt, empathy, compassion or remorse. These people need help from a mental health professional, such as a therapist, social worker, psychiatrist or psychologist.
Inform a trusted adult. Adults in positions of authority, such as parents, teachers or coaches, are often able to address bullying without the bully knowing how they learned about the bullying.
Ignore the bully and walk away. Bullies love to get a reaction from their victims. If you walk away and ignore them, you’re sending them the message that what they’re doing to you doesn’t affect you.
Try talking to the bully. Try to explain that their behavior is serious and harmful. This can work well if you realize that a member of your group has started to pick on or start to belittle another group member.
Practice ways to demonstrate self-confidence. Practice ways to respond to the bully verbally or with your behavior. Practice feeling good about yourself (even if you have to fake it at first).

It can be difficult to learn that someone you know has cancer. You may have many questions about cancer and how you can talk and act around someone with cancer. If you are close to someone with cancer, this can also be a very distressing and stressful time for you.
For many cancer patients, the most difficult side effect to cope with is fatigue. People report that the fatigue can be overwhelming, and are surprised at how much fatigue they can feel long after treatment is over. Recovery from surgery can take a long time, and a person can feel exhausted months after an operation. Chemotherapy can last many weeks with strong medications that make fatigue worse as the body recovers. People receiving radiation therapy also report extreme fatigue. The person with cancer may also have stress and emotional problems, which add to the exhaustion. Fatigue can last for many months after treatment has ended.
